At Titchwell Manor Hotel we are committed to providing accessibility for all our guests At our last AA inspection we were upgraded to a 3 Star Hotel, 82% quality rating with a Mobility 2 Award
We have 16 ground floor rooms, situated outside of the main Hotel building.
Room 30 Fennel and Room 31 Sorrel These 2 twin bedded rooms have a spacious toilet/shower rooms equipped for wheelchair users with designated disabled parking by the bedroom door. A non slip pathway leads through the gardens to the front of the hotel for access to lounge, bar and restaurant. We also have a wheelchair for guest's use, and a mobile ramp for easy access from the garden into the dining room.
Garden Bedrooms June 2006 we completed 12 rooms in the old vegetable garden which is 120 yards from the front entrance of the hotel and 25 yards from the restaurant via the gardens. It is possible to drive your car from the bedroom to the front of the hotel which has a designated disabled parking bay at the front door. The rooms in the garden are well lit, secure and quiet and have a non slip pathway through the gardens to the restaurant and hotel entrance. The summer house with comfortable chairs is a popular spot for a pot of tea or a snooze after lunch. We have portable equipment for use in these rooms if required: Raised toilet seat, Bath Seat, Grap Rails, Frame for around the toilet, Walking frame, Wheel chair Extra reading lights, Large button and flashing telephone handset
Cottage bedrooms, Room 7, 8, 9, 11 In the little Norfolk cottage which is 25 yards from the the main hotel over a gravel drive way. Room 8 is a large room with 5ft double bed and 3ft single bed with bathroom. Rooms 7 and 9 have 5ft double bed with bathroom, standard sized rooms. Room 11 is in a converted barn, at the back of the hotel building, This is a large spacious room, 5ft double bed and bathroom, no steps and parking by the room. Pet dogs as well as service dogs are permitted to sleep in these cottage bedrooms.
1. Parking is reserved at the front door of the hotel, which offers good access without steps
2. Parking for the ground floor bedrooms is close to their door.
3. The restaurant and bar areas do not have steps and are all ground level. A ramp leads guests from the conservtory into the gardens.
4. The public toilets in the restaurant and bar area are not easily accessible for wheelchairs and can only be used if the guest can step or two from the wheelchair. By July2007 we will have toilets in the main hotel equipped for wheelchair access.
5. All bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities with cordless kettles. Room service is available from 7.30am to 11pm and meals can be served to the room if desired.
6. All bedrooms are strictly non smoking
7. For guests who require the level of the bed altering we can supply wood blocks.
8. We are pleased to accept service dogs in all bedrooms and throughout the hotel. Pet dogs are restricted to the cottage bedrooms and are charged £8 per night to sleep in the room. Dog bowls, towels, polybags and walking maps are provided.
9. If it would be helpful to borrow our wheelchair for your day out we are happy to offer this if it is not already being used
10. All rooms are equipped with direct dial telephone for outside calls, or to the main hotel which has night service cover for emergencies. Telephone numbers for doctor and vet are available in the room folder. The mobile phone network coverage for this area is vodaphone. Other networks are unfortunately unreliable.
11. Titchwell RSPB reserve is ideal for visitors, the path through the reserve is well maintained with regular benches and is 1km from the visitors center to the sea. On the beach is a deck area ideal for relaxing and watching the sea and wading birds
12. Along the path way are hides, viewing points and feeding stations all equipped for disabled use, the visitor center has a wheelchair and binoculars which can be hired, regular guided walks and event information can be found by calling 01485 210779 or email paul.roney@rspb.org.uk |
